CBA Big Data App

CBA Big Data Insights We recently completed the first stage of the CBA Big Data Insights application which was displayed at the Sydney CeBIT Exhibition 05-07 May 2014. So what is Big Data Insights all about? CBA (Commonwealth Bank of Australia) are in a position where 40% of all transactions in Australia go through their system either via customer or merchant transactions. This gives them the unique ability to analyze this data and create extremely useful insights for businesses all around Australia. Big Data Insights is an application to showcase some of the insights that are available in CBA’s Daily IQ iPad Application. Technology The application was developed using actionscript 3.0 and the ASC 2.0 compiler. It was published as a air 3.9 application. This is essentially the same code that would be used if we were to publish to the web via the flash player or to android and iOS via the air for Android and iOS packager. The Starling Framework was used to take advantage of Flash 11’s GPU accelerated Stage3D graphics. Using Starling and Stage3D means that our applications can run up to and exceeding full HD at a silky smooth 60 fps while utilizing extremely low CPU processing power. For the mobile portion of this project we utilized Air for Android. This meant that both the projector and mobile application were able to share the same code base and removed the need to double up on core functionality. The Brix i7-477 was selected to run the projector portion of the experience. This little guy fits in the palm of your hand and still runs our application in full HD at a silky smooth 60 fps. The projector and mobile...

CBA Product Demo We recently completed the first stage of the CBA Product Demo application which was displayed at the Sydney CeBIT Exhibition 05-07 May 2014. The application is designed to showcase the latest and greatest innovative products produced by CBA. The application currently showcases three products, their secure payment devices Albert, Leo & Emmy, and their iPad application Daily IQ. The application in its current state has been developed to be displayed via a single projector at a resolution of 1920×1080 and a physical size of 7 x 4 meters. Due to such a huge display area the application can divide into 3 separate areas, effectively creating two new instances of the application which are completely separate from the first instance. However the next stage of development will require the application to have the capacity to show up to four instances at any given time and will be displayed across two edge blended projectors at a resolution of 3648×1080 due to reduced projector throw distance. double click to enter full-screen, best viewed at 16×9. (Note: Some features have been disabled or modified to allow for a single user can interact with all 3 products with a mouse) 3D product explorer of the CBA Albert device running in single instance mode. 3D product explorer of the CBA Leo device running in single instance mode. 3D carousel showcasing CBA’s Daily IQ iPad Application running in single instance mode.
